With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s easy to forget about another holiday. Galentine’s Day! Started by the popular TV show Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is meant to celebrate your relationship with female friends, and that’s awesome. Who doesn’t want to dedicate an entire night to the women that support you?
In honor of this incredible day, (February 13th) here are a few activities you and your squad can do to make the day a bit more exciting!
Whether at home or at an actual spa, having a day to pamper yourself can be a great way to relax and let go while surrounded by your girls. If you decide to stay home to spoil yourself, try the Dr. Jart+ Lover Rubber Mask or the La Mer Brilliance Brightening Mask! They’re some of my favorites!
Parks and Recs Marathon
I can’t write an article about Galentine’s Day without including the women that brought us this wonderful day. Grab a bottle of, slip into your favorite silk pajamas, kick your feet up and enjoy the night to yourselves. Maybe even keep a box of macarons on call.
It’s a classic activity for any squad, but it’s that way for a good reason. Nothing says squad goals better than sipping mimosa at two in the afternoon. There are a million restaurants that do brunches so it should be no problem finding somewhere to go.
Now, some of you may be thinking ‘Hmm, why?’ Because it’s entertaining! Who cares if nobody in your group is the next Van Gogh, going to a painting class (or any type of class) is a different activity that can give you something to talk about. Who knows, you may even find your next favorite hobby!
I really don’t think this one needs an explanation. It’s wine!
If wine isn’t your thing, try hosting a bake-off! Whether they’re made-from-scratch pies to box brownies, baking with your friends is always fun. Try a recipe you’ve never tried before, or branch out into desserts that aren’t normally sitting on your countertop. At the end of the night, you have some great treats to get you through the rest of the week.
Girls Night Out
No boys allowed. No bringing them, and no going home with them. Take the pressure off of going to a club and trying to impress boys. It’s just you and your girls. And, of course, those crazy dance moves that you’ve been practicing in your mirror since you were thirteen.
I hope you have a wonderful Galentine’s Day and really let your friend group know how incredible they are!
